In addition to teaching part-time at the graduate level, Dr. Jill Wheeler is an independent consultant focused on developing practical business solutions to help organizations succeed by selecting, developing, engaging, and retaining great talent. Jill brings a broad experience base, having worked in Fortune 500 and privately held companies in a variety of industries including telecommunications, financial services, retail, chemicals, and consumer packaged goods manufacturing. In addition, she has developed and implemented solutions for employee populations from the C-suite to entry-level hourly, including both unionized and non-union environments.

Prior to establishing her consulting practice, Jill most recently led the Talent Management and Organizational Development functions at Pactiv and Nalco, where she had global responsibility for high potential development, corporate training, performance management, talent management, succession planning, team building, organizational culture, and other Human Resources functions. She has also held senior level positions at Sears, GEICO, and Bell Atlantic (now Verizon).

In addition to her consulting work, Jill enjoys teaching part-time in Penn State’s Psychology of Leadership program. Her goal as an instructor is to share her experience with students as a means of helping them understand the course material, so they can more effectively apply it in their own careers.

She has also authored or delivered over 20 publications and presentations on topics including employee selection, job satisfaction, performance management, and leadership.
